KAS Programme

Jan 13 2018

Well done to all Transition Year students who recently took part in the KAS (knowledge, awareness, safety) programme. This is an education programme operating in secondary schools, delivered by members of the Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre. It is the centre’s second largest service after client counselling.
The most important aim of the programme is to raise students’ awareness of rape, sexual violence and sexual harassment, through the use of interactive workshops and personal developmental activities and exercises.
The programme is designed to give young people increased knowledge and understanding, which in turn allows them to determine their own beliefs, attitudes and responsibilities in society.
The students actively engaged in the programme and felt it was an extremely worthwhile and beneficial campaign.
