Students at Presentation College recently received awards for their excellence in academic, sporting and extra-curricular activities. The highest award that of Senior Student of the Year 2019 went to Ciara O’Doherty. Daniel Pender received the Ceist Award. The Brídín Quinn Award recipient was Darragh Curran and The Amanda O’Mahony Memorial German Award was presented to Conor Byrne.
The graduation for Transition Year students took place on Tuesday May 21. Sixth Years had their graduation ceremony in the Cathedral with lovely mass - the theme of which was ‘Take Flight and Remember Your Roots’. Last Wednesday Mr Delaney set off on the final staff 5K run of the school year and his teaching career. A fitting tribute had been organised and upon the return to the school the runners were met by some former athletes and a Guard of Honour made up of staff and students. They ran the final meters led by Mr Delaney.

Presentation College celebrated its first multi-cultural day on Thursday 2 May and was a celebration of the twenty-nine cultures in our school. Stephen Ng’ang’a who is the Campaigns and Advocacy Officer for the Immigrant Council of Ireland gave an inspiring talk to staff and students.....
Well done to all of our students, who travelled to Waterford on May 2 to compete in the South Leinster School’s Athletics Competition. Our Minor Girl’s Team won the 4 x 100m Relay. Maya Brennan came First in the High Jump, Aoife Kelly won the 500m, Our Junior Boy’s 4 x 100m Relay Team won their event and Adam Shaw won the 100m Sprint....
On Monday 4 March Sixth Year Irish students took part in an Irish drama workshop 'Caith Amach É'. The workshop is a fast-paced, physical comedy sketch show in which the two actors, Niall and Aidan covered each of the twenty Sraith Pictiúr on the 2019 Leaving Certificate Oral examination. Our incoming First Years were welcomed to the school last Friday afternoon for their Entrance Assessment. As well as meeting Mr. Murray the pupils met a fantastic group of students with whom they will become very familiar – the new Meitheal Team for 2019 – 2020 (see photograph). Our outgoing Team of Meitheal Leaders had their Awards Night and Graduation Ceremony on Friday evening in a packed Askea Church. Thanks to Ms. Doorley and Ms. Maher for mentoring, supporting and guiding the students throughout the year.
