Our Mission Statement

Presentation College is, by choice, a truly co-educational school. We aim to prepare all of our pupils, girls and boys alike for the challenges, responsibilities and experience of adult life. All members of the school community - pupils, parents, teachers and other staff - are held in very high regard and their dignity, worth and individuality is respected. We strive to build a sense of community based on Christian values. The school’s Code of Conduct acknowledges this and aims to promote a culture of respect throughout the school. It recognises that good discipline enables good teaching and allows good learning to take place.

Equality Week 2024

Our Student Council in Presentation College spent last week highlighting the importance of equality in our everyday lives. With the help of our Equality Officer Nothabo in Third Year many students took part in a video displaying messages of equality and what it means for each one of us in our school community. All enjoyed the video on Friday morning.. We were reminded that equality is about realising that we all have differences but taking into account that our rights should be the same. Handbags / Sac à main / Handtaschen / torebka

Eight of our current Third Year students will travel to India with the Hope Foundation next October. As part of their fundraising efforts they will run a Handbag stall at the Presentation College Car Boot Sale on Sunday 5th May. If you have any unwanted handbags at home that you would be willing to donate, we would be most delighted. There will be a box in the staffroom for any donations or they can be dropped to Ms Murphy in room 11. Reduce - Reuse - Recycle!

Third Years Visit 'The Elderflower Garden Club'

Ms Kelly and her Third Year Religion class were delighted to be the first school group to have a guided tour and talk from the fabulous volunteers in The Elderflower Garden Club. The students got lots of useful tips and information for their 'Challenge to Change' and 'Global Citizenship' Projects. Formerly a derelict site behind Avoca House in Carlow, the site has been transformed into an eco-garden where the group grows vegetables and flowers. The pesticide-free garden is managed on sustainable and organic principles. Rainwater is collected on-site and includes a solar-powered water feature, bug hotels, and bird boxes.

The Elderflower Garden Club will be selling their plants and hand made crafts at our Parents’  Council Car-Boot Sale on the 5th of May, 12pm -4pm. All support welcome. Click on heading for more photos.

Additional Accommodation Approval

The Board of Management is very pleased to welcome the approval by the Department of Education and Skills of substantial additional accommodation for our school, based on a long term projected enrolment of one thousand students.

This approval by the Department of Education and Skills is testament to the progression and development of the school over recent years and is a strong indicator of the reputation and status of the school moving forward. The provision of the additional accommodation will ease the annual oversubscription for places in our school and will enhance the top-class facilities already available to students.

The additional accommodation includes thirteen general classrooms, Staffroom, Multimedia Room, Music Room, DCG Room, Construction Studies Room, Technology Room, Textiles Room, two Science Laboratories, Pastoral Offices and associated circulation areas, student locker spaces and toilets.

Our school community looks forward, with excitement and anticipation, to the further development of Presentation College.
